George and I took a walk up to the top of the ski area in Green Valley Lake. A fire road runs along the crest of the hill, providing some incredible views. We could see the desert to the north, Lake Arrowhead to the northwest, and Snow Valley to the south.

We have been taking long walks getting ready for our summer in the Andes Mountains (Ecuador, South America). Walking several miles on flat ground at sea level and going up and down the stairs in my house isn't sufficient. I need frequent hikes like this at 7,000 feet to get in shape.

There are many seeps or springs in the San Bernadino Mountains. We found this one right on the ski area. Water just bubbled out of the ground and flowed downhill. A previous path the water took is marked by white caliche and plants growing in a line.
